CHICAGO – The City of Chicago will remain a sanctuary for choice. This summer, in partnership with Alderman Conway, my administration has supported designating Family Planning Associates as a noise-sensitive zone, protecting the right of choice. This ordinance amendment was supported by the Chicago Police Department and the Chicago Department of Public Health.  

I am so grateful to our reproductive justice advocates on our Advisory Council on Women, including Personal PAC, Chicago Abortion Fund, and Planned Parenthood of IL, who have been connecting with my team in preparation for the DNC. Our DNC preparation remains an all-hands-on-deck effort with CPD, OEMC, and all our city departments working to ensure that our city is protected and delivering the day-to-day services that our residents rely on. Together, we will ensure the safety and security of all in our city, regardless of the DNC, and especially those seeking reproductive and abortion health care.
