The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) invites families to Maxwell Street Market this Sunday for an inaugural “Kids Edition” to celebrate the final market of the year.

 

Special Activities Include:

  • 35-40 vendors along with 10-12 aspiring “Kidpreneurs”, offering a variety of handmade items including kids' jewelry, slime, artwork, hair clips, and more.
  • Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos activities by Somos Arte.
  • Live performances featuring talented young artists showcasing a variety of music.
  • Trick-or-treating at vendor booths for a fun Halloween experience – candy donation from Ferrara Candy Company.

 

Music Lineup:

  • 9-10am – DJ James Porter
  • 10-11am – A Patch of Blues
  • 11-11:30am – DJ James Porter
  • 11:30am-12pm – BandWith Chicago
  • 12-1pm – DJ James Porter
  • 1-2pm – Harrell "Young Rell" Davenport

 

Walking tours of the Maxwell Street Market and surrounding area will be hosted by the Maxwell Street Foundation at 10am, 12pm, and 1pm from their tent on Maxwell Street.
