Building Tours reveal the storied history of the landmark Chicago Cultural Center – offered year round on Thursdays and Fridays at 1:15 p.m. Tours are FREE and led by volunteer docents and/or staff.

For Elementary and High School student groups wanting to explore the Chicago Cultural Center's current visual art exhibitions and Learning Lab, please request a Exhibition Exploration tour.

 

Public Group Tours

  • Free guided tours of the building
  • Thursdays & Fridays (year-round).
  • 1:15 p.m.
  • Tours are 4560 minutes long
  • First come - First served. Limited to the first 25 people who sign up at the Randolph Street desk upon arrival.

Private Group Tours

Docent guided tour for groups of 15-30 people - all ages

Exhibition Exploration Tour (for student groups)

Students of all ages, especially Elementary and High School students are guided through an exploration of Chicago Cultural Center architecture and history as well as one current visual art exhibition and the Learning Lab. If time allows, we encourage additional exploration on your own in Millennium Park, afterwards.

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
  • Maximum 2 groups per day – maximum 20 students in each group
  • Teachers complete a separate request for each group or class.
  • Book 4 weeks in advance
  • Confirmation within 7 business days
  • Led by DCASE staff or trained and passionate volunteer docents.
  • Requests are filled to the best of our ability given limited staff and resources.
