Join us for a special panel discussion with Luftwerk, the renowned artistic collaboration of Petra Bachmaier and Sean Gallero. The artists will discuss their recent public art installation -- White Wanderer -- which brings the sights and sounds of Antarctica's Larsen C ice shelf to Chicago in an effort to raise awareness of the threat posed by climate change and sea level rise. The panel will feature project collaborators Rob Moore, a Senior Water Policy Analyst at NRDC, and Douglas MacAyeal, Professor in Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago. It will be moderated by Neil Stevenson of Ideo.
This event is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged. Reserve your seat.
White Wanderer will be on view - free of charge - at 2 N. Riverside Plaza from Sept. 07 – Oct. 01, and included in programming as part of the Chicago Architecture Biennial and the City of Chicago’s Year of Public Art. White Wanderer was created in collaboration with NRDC, with additional help from University of Chicago scientists.
