Protecting Tenants in Foreclosed Rental Property Ordinance

On June 5, 2013, the Chicago City Council passed the Protecting Tenants in Foreclosed Rental Property Ordinance, with an effective date of September 24, 2013.
The stated purpose of the ordinance is to preserve, protect, maintain and improve rental property and prevent occupied buildings from becoming vacant after foreclosure.
