Procedures for Optional Use of the 2019 Chicago Construction Codes

The Department of Buildings has issued a memorandum outlining procedures for optional use of the 2019 Chicago Construction Codes:

During the transitional period, from December 1, 2019, through July 31, 2020, permit applicants may elect to use the new codes. Applications that do not follow the required procedures will be reviewed and permitted under the pre-2019 requirements of the Municipal Code.
